TASTING NOTES
This Delle Venezie Pinot Grigio is fresh, food-friendly and is fragrant of pear and white flowers. It has delicate fruit flavours, mineral notes and a mouth-watering, crisp finish.
SEASON
In Italy they are also expecting a much smaller crop, 15% less according to official estimates, than last year, thanks to the cool, wet, late spring and poor flowering. And here too leaf plucking, in this case to accelerate ripening, resulted in grilled grapes. The delayed harvest dates mean that those in cooler, higher areas such as Chianti Classico have been hoping that they can pick their reduced volumes of particularly healthy, small grapes before autumn rains set in.
WINEMAKING
With this Delle Venezie Pinot Grigio we aim for preserving fresh fruit flavours and lively natural acidity. The juice was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks and matured briefly in tank before bottling. It is best enjoyed fresh and is ready to drink now.
Veneto is a wine region in north-eastern Italy, one of a group of three highly productive regions known collectively as the Tre Venezie (after the Venetian Republic).
The region is protected from the harsh northern European climate by the Alps, the foothills of which form Veneto's northern extreme. These cooler climates are well-suited to white varieties.
A collection of classic varieties grown in the earth that suits them best. Each wine is a reflection of their region.
The labels feature an abstract hand-print illustration designed to evoke the distinct personality of the country from which the wine originates.
This hand is inspired by the vibrant culture and rich history of Italy. Their lavish Venetian masquerade masks speak of the fine craftsmanship applied to not only art but food and wine too.
